Welcome to M. Haley's 9th grade Science class. I am really looking forward to settling in with this year's group. This year, I am excited to introduce a new component to our learning experience. The students and I will be bringing our class into the 21st century as we try to learn the art of blogging together.
I have created this class blog to serve several purposes; to better communicate with my students and parents, for students to 'scribe' class lessons in an effort to create a sort of online 'textbook', and more than anything, for students to learn how to share information and to use the web to connect with a global audience and to showcase what they are learning about.
In class, we will be discussing online safety and will make every effort to make this a safe venture. No last names will be used or displayed and students' personal information will never be included or allowed on this site. Students will be able to write whenever they want and not just in class, in addition to leaving comments on other blogs. I will be personally moderating all posts (entries to the blog) before they are published.
We welcome you to check in often and click on the different links and tabs as we build our blog into a helpful, informative, interactive and interesting place to visit. I encourage all of the students to show off our collaborative efforts to their friends and family and to invite them to leave us comments to let us know what they think. Parents, please be sure to re-visit this page often (Pour Nos Parents/For Our Parents), as I will be copying any class-pertinent handouts to this spot for you in addition to your receiving them at home.
